Victim Services Specialist
Tamara Washington is GW's Victim Services Specialist. She advocates for and supports persons affected by any form of crime. Ms. Washington is a Credentialed Advocate (CA) who holds her Bachelors of Science in Justice Studies, a Masters of Education in Professional Counseling in Higher Education, and is pursuing a doctoral degree in Higher Education Administration.
Prior to GW, Ms. Washington worked as a Victim Advocate for the rape crisis center in Carrollton, Georgia and assisted in interpersonal prevention work at the University of West Georgia. Tamara Washington has specific interests in formal and informal disclosures of survivors of sexual assault, the intersectionality of identities and its impact on how individuals navigate both higher education and the healing process.
