The George Washington University’s (GW) Office of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) is committed to minimizing the threat of fire incidents to students, staff, faculty, visitors, and property. GW complies with applicable laws, regulations, and codes related to fire prevention in Washington, D.C., Loudoun County, VA, and at the federal level.

GW has established rally points for all campus buildings. These rally points are designated areas that individuals on campus should go to in the event of an emergency evacuation.

Hot Work Permits
Any operations involving open flames, heat, and/or sparks are subject to the GW Hot Work Program and require a Hot Work Permit. All requirements are described in the Hot Work Program
