Student Advisory Board

Mission

The Division of Safety & Facilities Student Advisory Board (SAB) aims to create greater transparency and partnership between GW's student body and university administrators regarding campus safety.  In collaboration with the greater student body, the advisory board identifies campus safety concerns, generates initiatives, and provides feedback to leadership.

Previous Accomplishments

  • Advised on the Campus Access project that shifted all residence halls to tap access
  • Participated in the Chief of Police search and interview process
  • Piloted and provided feedback on the launch of GW Guardian App
  • Conducted a safety walk on Foggy Bottom and Mount Vernon campuses
  • Provided feedback that led to the campus wide clean-up of all Blue Lights
  • Reformed part of the room inspection process in collaboration with our Health & Safety team
  • Advised EMeRG on how to improve communication with the student body
  • Participated in the Return to Campus operational planning effort

And much more!

Please reach out to the SAB Coordinator, Emily Lou, if you have any questions.
